Terms and Conditions of Opening An Account
Please note that all accounts are operated on the following conditions:
To open an account and bet with Ostlers Racing you must accept out Terms and Conditions and comply with our age verification check to provide proof of your age.
We only accept bets on UK and Irish Horseracing.
Bets accepted will be limited to Singles, Doubles, Trixies, Trebles, Yankees and Lucky 15’s
No bets will be deemed to have been accepted without a receipt from us either by text or other electronic means.
Tattersalls Rule 4 Deductions will come into effect if other horses are withdrawn or deemed to be a non runner after your bet has been placed.
We accept the following payment types – Debit Cards, Bank Transfers and Cheques.
We do not accept Credit Cards or PayPal deposits.
All Account Withdrawals will be done via Bank Transfer. We do not pay out winnings back to any card that may have been used to place the bet or to fund your account.
Our maximum payout on any bet will be £2,000 plus your full original stake (see T&C’s below under the heading Bet Acceptance)
Statements will be sent out weekly on a Monday morning either by email or post (as per client’s preference)
Our “statement week” runs from Sunday to Saturday
We reserve the right to refuse any bet.
We Pay out on First Past the Post AND the Official Result on the day
We do not offer Best Odds Guaranteed.

Ostlers Racing offer a betting service (the “Service”) via telephone, text or any other form of communication that we agree with you from time to time.
These Terms and Conditions set out how we will manage your account and your transactions with us. These Terms and Conditions are legally binding and are entered into between us and the customer (“you”).
If we make any material changes to these Terms and Conditions we will notify you of such changes. Your continued use of the Service will be deemed as acceptance of any changes to the Terms and Conditions.
Fair and Open Transactions / Complaints Process
Ostlers Racing believes in fair and open transactions. If you have a complaint regarding any issue relating to your account then please provide us with the details of this in writing. We will confirm who is handling the matter and how long we are likely to take to respond to you. We will investigate the matter, taking into account all relevant information and we will respond with our verdict, which may include an offer to resolve your complaint. If we are unable to resolve the complaint to your satisfaction then you may submit your dispute to the relevant third party to deal with, which may be the Independent Betting arbitration Service (IBAS) if the complaint relates to the settlement of a bet. We will comply with any IBAS investigation.
If you would like information on how to help you manage your gambling activity, please speak to us. We offer a full self exclusion policy and we can also provide contact details for organisations where you can seek further support if needed.
Your Account and Representations
In consideration of us accepting your application to open an account, you represent to us (and acknowledge that we rely on these representations) as follows:
You are 18 years of age or over and capable of taking responsibility for your own actions and that you can enter into a legally binding agreement with us;
You agree to provide accurate registration information. You agree to inform us of any changes in such details;
You are the person whose details are provided in connection with your registration or, in the case of legal entities, you are a duly authorised representative of the relevant legal entity;
You are acting as a principal and not as an agent on behalf of a third party;
You understand that you may lose money by using the Service and accept full responsibility for such loss;
You are not an undischarged bankrupt or in a voluntary arrangement with your creditors; and
You are located in a Territory where it is lawful for you to place bets and for us to receive them.
It is your responsibility to keep your contact details up-to-date on your account. Failure to do so may result in you failing to receive important account related notifications and information from us, including changes we make to the Terms and Conditions.
You are solely responsible for the security and confidentiality of your account. You agree to keep your account username and password strictly confidential, not to disclose them to a third party and you are responsible for any misuse of them. You undertake to protect your username and password in the same way that you would in respect of your bank cards and any failure to do so shall be at your sole risk and expense.
When you communicate with us via Email, phone or text we are entitled to assume that any communication to us from your Email account or phone is from you. You are solely responsible for the security and confidentiality of, as well as access to, these accounts. You agree to keep the usernames and passwords for such accounts strictly confidential, not to disclose them to a third party and you are responsible for any misuse of them. You undertake to protect those usernames and passwords in the same way that you would in respect of your bank cards and any failure to do so shall be at your sole risk and expense.
If another person makes transactions with us on your account including via Email and or your phone you agree that you are solely responsible for all their actions whether or not their access was authorised by you and you hereby indemnify us and hold us harmless against all costs, claims, expenses and damages howsoever arising in connection with the use of or access to your account by any third party.
You will not attempt to sell or otherwise transfer the benefit of your account to any third party and nor will you acquire or attempt to acquire an account which has been opened in the name of a third party.
If we believe, using our absolute and sole discretion that you have:
- registered and/or used more than one account; and/or
- acted in collusion with one or more other individuals through a number of different accounts to back the same combination of selections (regardless of whether or not such bets are struck separately, at a range of different prices or on different days);
In an attempt to exceed the maximum pay-out for an individual account holder across linked accounts, we reserve the right to withhold any winnings arising from such behavior.
Deposit and withdrawal of Funds
The funds in your account are held on your behalf by way of security to meet any payment obligations you may incur as a result of betting with us.
You undertake that:
- All money that you deposit in your account is untainted with any illegality and, in particular, does not originate from any illegal activity or source; and
- all payments made into your account are authorised and you will not attempt to reverse a payment made into your account or take any action which will cause such a payment to be reversed by a third party, in order to avoid any legitimate liability.
You accept that all transactions may be checked to prevent money laundering and that any transactions made by you which we deem suspicious, may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
We have a number of controls and checks that take place before any withdrawal request is processed. These checks are part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining the security of our customers’ funds. All withdrawals requests are therefore only processed after the expiry of a set period of time from the withdrawal request being made.
Client Confidentiality and Data Security
Ostlers Racing will protect your personal information (including information relating to your bets and transactions) by taking all reasonable steps to keep your personal information secure.
Ostlers Racing will not provide this information to any third party unless you have agreed that we may do so, other than as set out in these Terms and Conditions including for the reasons set out below.
We may use your personal information for the purposes of processing bets, managing your account and complying with regulatory duties.
You authorise us, at any time, to use any means that we consider necessary to verify your identity with any third party providers of information.
Under the terms of our licence we are obliged to provide information to the Gambling Commission that we may suspect may relate to an offence or that might lead to the Gambling Commission making an order to void a bet.
We may also provide information to the relevant sport governing body if we believe this may lead to the Gambling Commission voiding a bet or which may relate to a breach of a rule of the applicable sport governing body.
Under the proceeds of Crime Act we are obliged to report to the Serious Organised Crime Agency any instance in which we suspect that client funds may be of criminal origin and any other suspicious financial activity. Any such disclosure is confidential and you will not be informed about this. We may also pass on your personal details if required to do so under any Money laundering or data protection legislation.
Errors and Omissions
You will inform us as soon as you become aware of any errors with respect to your account and you will forfeit any amounts shown to be in your account that result from human error or technical fault.
Suspension or termination
Either we or you may suspend or terminate your account at any time, either with or without cause; upon notice (we will use our reasonable endeavours to give such notice to you either before or after suspending or terminating your account). Please contact us if you would like to close your account.
We may take steps to stop you from betting with us if you are located in certain jurisdictions, for example the United States of America.
Following termination or suspension of your account, we will, in the normal course of events, return any funds in your account to you. Please contact us to recover any funds held in suspended or closed accounts.
However, we reserve the right to withhold the funds in your account from you pending the determination of any investigation (including any relevant external investigation) where:
- we suspect you have acted in breach of these Terms and Conditions or any other agreement relevant to your activities on our site, including where we suspect the account has been linked with fraudulent or dishonest activity; and/or
- We have to withhold the funds in your account by law or to comply with any advice, request or instruction from any governmental, regulatory or enforcement authority.
Following the determination of any such investigation we reserve the right to seize some or all of the funds in your account if we are satisfied that you have acted in breach of these Terms and Conditions or any other agreement relevant to your activities on our site. We will deal with any funds obtained by us in this manner at our sole and absolute discretion and/or in accordance with any advice, request or instruction from any governmental, regulatory or enforcement authority.
In addition, if formally requested by the police, gambling regulators or taxation or other authorities or in the event that you fail to provide us with sufficient information to identify yourself in accordance with our own internal procedures or those imposed on us by regulatory authorities (wherever based) we may suspend your account and withhold from you any funds in your account pending determination of any criminal or other legal proceedings or investigation to which such a request may relate or until you provide the necessary ‘know your client’ or ‘age verification’ information as appropriate.
A contract to bet is not formed between us until a bet has been confirmed to you by us.
For telephone bets, clients should stay on the line until a bet has been confirmed. If the call is disconnected for any reason or there is any doubt as to whether the bet has been struck it is the responsibility of the customer to call back immediately and confirm that the bet has been struck.
For any bets sent by electronic communication (e.g. text, or any other electronic means) a contract is not formed between us until you have received a confirmation.
We guarantee a payout on any accepted bet up to a maximum win liability payable by us of £2,000. Any expected winnings over this amount will not be paid. This is regardless of the total stake of the original bet. Original stakes will not be retrospectively re calculated if our guaranteed payout liability is exceeded. The original bet stake will always remain fixed.
See examples below:
Example 1 – £500 win bet on a horse that wins with a Starting Price (S.P.) or price taken of 4/1. This will be settled by us as a £500 win bet at 4/1. Our payout to you will be £2,000 (plus your original stake of £500)
Example 2 – £500 win bet on a horse that wins with an Starting Price (S.P.) of 9/2. No price was originally taken. This theoretically would produce a winning return of £2,250 plus your original stake of £500. In this instance, the payout by us would again be £2,000 (capped in line with our maximum payout policy) plus your original stake of £500.
We will not retrospectively recalculate/change your stake to £444.45 at 9/2 to allow you to win £2,000 and therefore return to you £2,000 winnings plus a returned recalculated stake of £555.55 (your original stake of £500 plus the difference between the original stake of £500 and £444.45)
Example 3 – £200 win bet on a horse that wins at 12/1 winner. This will return £2,000 winnings (in line with our maximum payout policy) plus your original stake of £200.
We will not retrospectively recalculate/change your stake to £142.86 on a boosted S.P. of 14/1 and thus return £2,000 plus a returned recalculated stake of £257.14. (your original £200 stake plus the difference between the original stake of £200 and £142.86)
Free £10 bet when you open an account with Ostlers Racing.
Your £10 in Free Bets will be credited to your account once you have staked £10 in total
Money Back as a free Bet if 2nd Promotion.
This applies to the first bet that is placed by the Account Holder on the promotional race. Subsequent bets by the same Account number will not qualify for this promotion.
Only Win Only Single Bets qualify for this promotion
Maximum refund on this promotion is £100 per account
Refer A Friend Promotion
If a friend of yours opens an account and advises us by mail that they have done so as you referred them to us, then we will credit your account with a Free Bet of £10
Beaten By A Nose Promotion
Full refund of your bet in Cash if your horse is beaten into first place by a nose.
Maximum refund on this promotion is £100 per account
Boosted SP Promotion
If you take SP via our App rather than a price then we will boost the SP for any returns that are due to you. e.g. – If your horse wins at 7/2 we will pay 4/1
Maximum stake on this promotion is £100 win or £50 Each Way
Faller Insurance Promotion
If you back a horse at a specified NH meeting and it falls we will refund your bet as a Free Bet. Maximum stake on this promotion is £100 win or £50 Each Way
Without prejudice to our obligations contained within the various laws and regulations of the jurisdictions where we are licensed, we are not liable for any loss or damage that you may suffer because of any: act of God; power cut; trade or labour dispute; act, failure or omission of any government or authority; obstruction or failure of telecommunication services; or any other delay or failure caused by a third party or otherwise outside of our control. In such an event, we reserve the right to cancel or suspend our services without incurring any liability.
We are not liable for the failure of any equipment or software howsoever caused, wherever located or administered, or whether under our direct control or not, that may prevent the operation of the Services, impede the placing of offers for bets or the matching of bets, or prevent you from being able to contact us.
You agree to indemnify and hold us and our associated companies, affiliates, officers, directors, agents and employees harmless from any liabilities, claims, losses or demands made by any third party arising out of your breach of this Agreement (including documents incorporated by reference) or out of your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
We exclude all representations and warranties as to the satisfactory quality and/or fitness for its intended purpose and/or accuracy and completeness of the Services.
In no event will we, or any of our suppliers, accept any liability however arising for any losses you may incur as a result of using the Services. Under no circumstances will our liability under this Agreement or for breach of contract, tort, equity or otherwise exceed your exposure limit as specified in your account. Under no circumstances will we be liable for any indirect, special or consequential damages, loss of profits (direct or indirect) or the benefit of any bet arising from breach of contract, negligence, equitable duty (including for the avoidance of doubt in relation to any bet(s) voided by us) or other liability even if we had been advised of or known (or should have known) of the possibility of such damages or loss.
Nothing in this Agreement excludes our liability with respect to death and personal injury resulting from our negligence, or that of our employees, agents or subcontractors.
We will not be liable to you for any loss that you may incur as a result of misuse of your password, or in the case of the Telephone Service, of your telephone access number, and we accept no liability resulting from its unauthorised use, whether fraudulent or otherwise.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions will be governed by English law. You agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to resolve any dispute or claim arising out of your use of the Service.
